In disputes over the amount of spousal and child support that should be paid, the Court can impute income to a spouse who is intentionally underemployed or unemployed. Voluntarily quitting a job, or voluntarily going back to school, cannot be used to inflate or deflate your income in hopes of either receiving more or paying less support.
